Hello!
I am Dr. Rakesh Sarma. Thanks for visiting our website!
When I first started medical school more than 2o years ago, I knew that there was an aspect of medical education and a conventional medical career that did not fully align with my ideas of health and healing. I then embarked to learn other modalities as much to fulfill my curiosity about health and healing although I didn’t know that I would offer those modalities at some point to people. I love serving my patients, and I also enjoyed finding more than one way to do so.
Primary Care can be a Joy to practice - there are multiple ways to interact and achieve a change in health - that don't always need a pharmaceutical. That being said, when a pharmaceutical is needed - then it can be given in the right context. The same principle can be said for a supplement or an herbal.
"Health” to me does not boil down to a pharmaceutical or a supplement alone. I don't see people as just biochemical processes waiting to be pharmaceutically adjusted. I respect that these agents have their place as they do help and even save lives. But they are not the “health” of the person.
I have found that there are many approaches that can help deepen one’s sense of their own “health.” For example, “health” for me is doing my daily self-centering practice and keeping in contact with those who remind me to be authentic to myself. In addition to eating well and experiencing nature and spending time with my family, Health for me is also about working on my inner self and learning how I choose to react or respond consciously to life’s multiple stressors.
What deepens your sense of “Health?” Let's talk about that! It's a great topic to see what "Health" is for you and not what we see in a magazine, TV or social media post.
My goal is to help you experience a deeper sense and understanding of your “health.”
